Australian Composers

Does writing one piece make a choral composer? If not, how many pieces are enough? Who may be called an Australian composer? One born here? An immigrant? An Australian-born person who lives or lived elsewhere?

There are many questions to answer when compiling a source list of Australian choral composers; an important list when looking for Australian repertoire. Here is the beginning of a list that may help you with your search.

A list in progress... included is every work on the Percy Grainger Society web that has voice, with an attempt to point up the available variants. Publishers are mostly Schott, Oxford, G Schirmer, Bardic. Some of the listed vocal works are arrangements by others of Grainger instrumental works.
